Makes calls, but does little else

I bought this phone because I was desperate...my beautiful LG broke, I was not able to get a new one from my cell plan, and I needed a phone. I found this unlocked phone online cheap, so I decided to give it a try. Well, it makes and receives calls. It's a flip phone, and it's compact. That's about all I can say for it. If you need something as a backup phone, it's great, but don't expect any special features. The lack of an alarm clock is especially annoying. Also, getting the phone to charge takes major effort. My phone was new when I received it, and I still find myself having to manipulate the charger jack several times to get it to charge up. In hindsight, I think I should have purchased something else. Try tracfone instead !!!

from Amazon
Tracfone gives better deals in minutes. It is perfect for those with light, in town usage. It only uses one unit per minute, two if you're outside of your area code(roaming), and long distance doesn't cost any extra. The airtime doesn't cost a fortune, and you have no credit checks, or monthly bills. Re...More

The airtime doesn't cost a fortune, and you have no credit checks, or monthly bills. Reception is good because they utilize many different providers instead of just one. They also have a referral program, so you can earn 100 extra minutes for free if your friends and family buy one too(they also get 180 minutes). If you want a referral to get started with 100 free minutes, just e-mail me at amitgames@yahoo.com , I'd be happy to send you the link! Less

Decent phone, with one stellar feature

This phone has the unusual feature of letting you hear yourself talk. My wife reports that I sound as good on this phone as a land line. Otherwise, the phone is unexceptional. Mine belongs to my company, and has been used by others in the past. It's definitely showing some body flex, and the battery needs to be recharged daily. It'd get three stars if it wasn't for the suond quality and surprising feature. Less

It's a phone ... a simple phone

from Amazon
that's what it is ... and frankly that's what a cell phone is primarily for ... isn't it? that's what it is ... and frankly that's what a cell phone is primarily for ... isn't it? The Mot V66 is a small sized phone ... sometimes so small that it barely fits in the perimeter of your ear :) ... its size is a double edged sword which you will probably like it and hate it at times. I have used this one and the V60 and I like em both. For the same service (T-Mobile) in the same area the V66 has not dropped a single call in 2 years. It's an inexpensive phone which again can be its achilles heel. WARNING: You can expect to sometimes become insecure while using this in public places as people WILL notice. So if you are a person who depends on others for security don't ever think of owning this one. These days anyways cell phones with much better features are being offered at the same price so you won't have a problem with choices. BTW I gave it 4 stars because I think motorola could have done better in the color, display and material quality segments. Less

Best phone I've ever used!

from Amazon
I have been using V66 for 2 years. It has been the best phone I have ever had. Although I have just received a new V188 I am still using V66. I have not had any problems with this phone. It is small for pocket and easy to operate. It also has a nice loud tone which is a bliss in crowded areas.

Perfect size, good reception

I think this phone is great. One of the lightest and smallest phones out there. Great reception. Used it Italy perfectly fine. Basic features which are simple and easy to use unlike a Sidekick or a phone with a million ways to do a few things its small, simple, great reception, perfect to travel or carry, and just plain simply....KEEPIN IT REAL!

Outstanding workhorse

I have owned this phone for over 2 years. It has taken every kind of abuse I can imagine, including being dropped and kicked 30 yards down a concrete Chicago subway platform. This is not a fragile cell phone. I have large fingers, and have never had a problem with the size of the dialpad. I have never mistakenly dialed a wrong number. I have never jumped out of a menu by hitting the wrong button. This is not the phone to own for bells and whistles. If you primarily use your cell phone to talk, this is an excellent choice. I charge my phone perhaps every 4 days and have never had to replace the battery. I have consistently been surprised by the resilience of this phone and would not hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for a solid, single-use cell phone. Less
