What the Critics Are Saying...

Neowin

Overall, the LG X venture is a handset that is quite capable and is a good option for someone looking for a decent performer with lots of battery life. Sure, it doesn’t have the best camera or appearance, but it makes up for that in other ways. Perhaps the biggest draw for the device will be that it...

LG started with budget specs and an OK display on the X Venture and slapped on an armored coat of rugged durability. The phone’s cameras are pretty sharp for a device at this price, though the focus on the selfie cam could be a bit better. At more than 11 hours, the X Venture's battery life is...

The LG X Venture is a good phone. I love the larger battery, the customizable shortcut button, and the rugged feel. But the X Venture is in a very competitive space, and I'm not sure the $329 price is right. Ultimately, the X Venture isn't the best choice for everyone. If you want a durable bud...

Overall, the LG X venture is a handset that is quite capable and is a good option for someone looking for a decent performer with lots of battery life. Sure, it doesn’t have the best camera or appearance, but it makes up for that in other ways. Perhaps the biggest draw for the device will be that it is certified MIL-STD 810G device and has an IP68 rating, giving the user a bit more freedom when it comes to being carefree.

LG started with budget specs and an OK display on the X Venture and slapped on an armored coat of rugged durability. The phone’s cameras are pretty sharp for a device at this price, though the focus on the selfie cam could be a bit better. At more than 11 hours, the X Venture's battery life is better than expected, so it’s unfortunate that the phone’s performance feels more sluggish than its $330 price tag would imply.

The LG X Venture is a good phone. I love the larger battery, the customizable shortcut button, and the rugged feel. But the X Venture is in a very competitive space, and I'm not sure the $329 price is right. Ultimately, the X Venture isn't the best choice for everyone. If you want a durable budget phone and you're on AT&T, I would definitely recommend it. But if you don't care too much about durability, or you're not on AT&T, the Moto G5 Plus is a better choice.

A cohesive package of design, hardware, and software integration

The LG X Venture isn’t a phone for everyone, but it’s also not supposed to be. If you positively need the latest and greatest, this phone likely won’t even be on your radar, but if you’re looking for something that’s well-rounded and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, you might have a winner.
