My other LG phone was biting the dust at the time - though it still worked 90% after a short bath in a sink of water, he gave me his 6070. (mf'd late 2003). What can I say? 7.5 years of standard use, with the odd fall and smack. Second battery pack (03/2005) but still gives 100 hrs standby and 90 minutes talk time. Speaks for itself I guess. Do they make em like that anymore? -Scott Less

"OK" PHONE

everything is pretty good except for the fact that for the last year, the sound hasn't been working. In other words, it only vibrates.

Durable phone

I've had this phone for 3 years and I'm very impressed with it. I've been more than a little hard on it and it's stood up well to day to day use, as well as some serious abuse (I'm klutzy, I've dropped the phone down the stairs, out of the car, and once down a stairwell onto a concrete floor). I really like the design of the phone, it fits well in a jean or coat pocket. I use to drive up to Northern Ontario during the summers, and I was always impressed with how well the phone could make a receive calls. All, in all, the phone is fairly basic, but very durable, and works great! Less

Reliable workhorse, tough as nails

My wife and I had these phones for 5 years (2 years hers, and 3 years mine) They are not fancy with cameras and MP3s as they are old phones now, but are solid and reliable with awesome variety of features. Voice memo, notepad, calculator, T9 Txt, Great alarm clock with snooze. I started having trouble with reception on mine at about 2 years, was losing calls constantly. It worked great until then though. She got a new one so I took her old one, which still worked perfectly til a week ago (after about 3 years plus a few months of perfect service) when the ringer speaker crapped out. I still have vibrate but am currently going to get a new one. These phones are tough as nails. We always had leather cases on them (the kind with the two snaps, not the one piece ones that flop off when you open the phone) and I've seriously put both these phones through a whole lot of hardcore abuse. Literally been dropped hundreds of times onto the hard pavement while biking, dropped onto concrete floors at least a thousand times. These phones arew built really solid and with that leather case are indestructible. Less

Awful Phone

I've owned several phones and by far this one was the worst of the bunch. For the first two months of my 3 year contract It barely had any signal and dropped calls constantly. Then all of a sudden the screen cracked. I don't mean the plastic, I mean the LCD matrix. The screen now looks like some kind of lava lamp and is no longer of any use. The phone itself still makes calls but with the same terrible service it did before (telus). I'm stuck in a contract with a crappy phone that the company not only wont replace but seems to refuse to acknowledge ever selling. Features are nothing special, asthetics are nothing special (only came in one colour) and preformance is terrible. Steer clear of all LG phones, this one in particular. Less

Too Hot! (not in a good way)

This phone has been okay for the past 2 years... as long as you keep your conversations under 10 minutes. After about 10 minutes of talking the number plate of the phone gets so hot I can no longer hold the phone to my face... Telus and LG have offered no advice, other than "get another phone". But as other people have said it sucks when coming to battery life etc. And I have to agree on some cases becuase i have had this phone for a year on a fam. plan and my partners phone has had many problems with the LCD screen and anything u can think of, but mine has worked beautifly with the exception the i can never find the model on icoke for ringtones and wallpapers. i think LG made this phone to screw up people with the 3- year plan and that they have a little timer on the inside of the phone were after excactly 1 year that it starts haveing problems Less

Krappy Reception

All my room mates have rogers and they have clear reception in our house and in our basement, meanwhile i cant even make an outgoing call from the basement. The phone itself is of good qulity, ive dropped it several times and it is still intact except for the fron sceen being cracked. Ive had the phone for 4 years tho. Less
