7100i worst ever along with Telus Service

I have been using cell phones for 20 years now, switched to "7100i Blackberry Telus Mike" system a few years ago, never have good service coverage, many dropped calls daily, voice mall is awful, don't hear the messages in full ever. The service is getting worst every year. Once this contract is up I'm switching to a Blackberry with phone only. I'm done with Mike system it never works well enough to justify the cost. Less

Ok phone, but Mike Telus sucks

I had the phone for about a year now. I love its features. I had the phone for about a year now. I love its features. The phone locks sometimes but not that often, in the 10 months I had it it maybe froze on me 3-4 times...usually in the middle of a call or dialing. Telus sucks as they want you to pay extra for the ability to send sms, and thats the only reason I'll leave the Mike plan and go to PCS. The bluetooth works ok, but people complain sometimes they cant hear me good Less

Pro: Con: Using experience: 2 months Its a wonderful phone you can do anything with it but expect to pay an EXTRA $40-50 a month for text, email, web package thats added onto your phone bill.

AWESOME!! Con: For me to have to name a con, the only thing I find strange is how the phone feels. It seems kind of cheap. Sorry RIM… Using experience: 30 days I enjoy having upgraded phones, so when I tell Nextel users how much better this phone is compared to the last BlackBerry they offered, I hope they believe me. Pro: This phone does everything except take pictures! Here are some of the things I love about it so far. It offers a big color screen yet the phone is still compact. It also has a great keyboard, and is Bluetooth compatible. Con: The track wheel is definitely not one of the phones best features. It is somewhat annoying to use and this doesn't help because navigating through the phone is somewhat confusing. Using experience: 7 weeks Besides those two downfalls, I am so glad I decided to go with this phone. Thank you PhoneDog for all of the information you provided me about the phone before I made the purchase from your site. You guys are the best and I can't wait to send all of my friends to your site! Pro: Some of the things I have been impressed with so far are the great color screen, direct connect access from the side of the phone, and I am really loving SureType. Con: Because the phone is so light I am worried that it may not be tough enough. The best way to describe it that it seems like a toy plastic phone. The thumbwheel seems to lag a little, but remember this is my first BlackBerry so maybe it's supposed to do that! Using experience: 3 weeks The 7100i is my first BlackBerry and definitely won't be my last! This phone is the perfect size and comes with things like Push E-Mail, and Berry 411 services. I know in past reviews people complain about BlackBerry devices not having a camera, but I say buy a BlackBerry and a new digital camera because this phone is so worth having! Less

Pro: The 7100i is a great powerful tool and I couldn't be happier to have upgraded to it with NEXTEL. It's so easy to work with because of the smaller size and is much lighter than any other BlackBerry I have ever seen. I am able to read attachments without a subscription service, so that is a real savings for me. If you can subscribe to the TELNAV feature in your area,(about $10 a month) get it! Its almost like having ONSTAR services right at your fingertips! Con: Besides taking some time to learn how to use the keypad, the only other downside was the lack of .wav ringtones. I enjoy being able to personalize my phones so it would be really helpful if they could add more. Using experience: 6 months This is a very workable handheld that I am really enjoying. I am so glad the Nextel picked up this great BlackBerry because a PDA with Direct Connect is about the best you can get! Less
