Waiting for SMS connection

My new replacement phone from Assurance is a UMX phone.  I'm having trouble with texting.  Half the time I try to send text I get "Waiting on SMS connection". And s o sometimes I have to restart phone before it will send my text.  I've tried going into Messages app to adjust settings but have no clue what I'm supposed to do to make it work.

None of my prior Assurance Wireless phones did this.

I just got my UMX phone and I can't send or receive (no errors but the messages never go through). This sucks

I Have the same problem as does another person with the UMX phone. Today I tried factory reset Ill see if that works. I also had a browser hacker that came with the phone that i could not  get rid of as did the other person. When opening the browser thru search or whatever instead of getting home page or result i would get today2news Ill see if that is fixed also. back up data because you will lose it all then power phone off. Press Power and volume up key untill yoiu see no command then release. Next press power and Volume up or down for 1 second one will bring up the root list. YUou can scroll down with volume down button to WYPE data Factory reset. Power buton will select it so press the power button. Finally it will say Wiping data then it will return to a menu saying reboot. Again press the power button and it will restart and takie you to the setup screen just like when you took it out of the box. call Assurance from anothetr phone and tell them you did a factory reset on the phone and you want them to do a toweer reset. your phone must be off. Once they do the tower reset power up your phone again and see if it fixed the problem. It can take 15 to 20 minutes for the changes to tgake effect. This should only be done by advanced phone people who have already tried the basic battery out and default setting easy stuff first

I'm having the same problem I'd say %90 of the time I have no signal and or No SMS connection Restarting the phone is truck I've done also, all a sudden you'll be able to text or receive the ones that were sent  to you. Idk if it's the phone or service provider probably the latter. I've got assurance wireless or Obama phone lifeline service if you will
