The Archos Arnova 10 G2 is a result of Archos wanting to make an affordable Android tablet that doesn’t suck. It comes equipped with very basic features, such as a 1024x600 pixel resolution 10.1-inch LCD, VGA camera, USB connectivity, and built-in Wi-Fi. And of course, it comes pre-loaded with the Android operating system, which is handled by 512MB ofRAM and a 1GHz ARM Cortext A8 processor.
As you might expect out of a budget offering, the G2 doesn’t do much to impress in terms of either hardware or software features. It measures 12mm thick and weighs a total of 540 grams, so it isn’t going to win any slim and trim awards. Where it does shine, however, is in the battery life department. The Arnova 10 G2 is able to last about 7 hours per charge with either vidoe playback of Wi-Fi Internet browsing. Even some newer tablet models last a couple of hours less than that.
Speaking of newer tablet models, many of these are now available at even lower price points than this device, and yet offer somewhat better features. It is possible to get something just as powerful or feature-rich for less. And with a slight bump up in your budget, you’ll be able to snag something that’s a lot better overall.
