The 2nd gen Echo Show is much improved smart speaker with a bigger display for 2019. The best part about Amazon Echo devices has been its voice assistant ‘Alexa’. The AI-powered digital assistant is undoubtedly smartest virtual assistant for smart speakers right now. It picks up your voice thanks to its eight microphones and far-field technology. The device can hear you even when the music is playing loud, and it worked 9 out of 10 times during my review time.

The Echo Show 2018 has a lot going in its favor, including fabulous audio output. As always Alexa is obedient and always ready to respond to your commands. The Echo Show responds best with Amazon services be it shopping or watching shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Prime Videos it all can be done by just calling out Alexa. Furthermore, a built-in smart home hub adds more value to the Echo Show and means it can be a great new addition for anyone who’s interested in smart homes and is invested in Amazon’s ecosystem.

The Indian Express

Looks like a small television which can be controlled by voice.

from The Indian Express

Well, if you are bored of your older Echo devices, this is a great upgrade. But think through whether you have the use for a screen. If you are sort who would like a smart mantlepiece then go ahead, the Echo Show won’t disappoint.

At the moment, what this does is take everything that Alexa does with voice and adds the visual element of a display. It is great, mind you, to be able to see a visual illustration of sports scores or the weather, or even access your security cameras instantly. Or have a fantastic little device which plays Amazon Video and YouTube content at a simple voice command. It is this sort of functionality that will make this the centerpiece of conversations the next time your friends or relatives come over. And things will only get beefed up in due course.

NDTV

Offers a fairly refined multi-sensory AI voice assistant experience

from NDTV

The Echo Show is a taste of the future, combining conversational smarts, casual information delivery, and the ability to fetch video, audio, and trivia with simple voice commands. There's no denying the ease of using a largely hands-free solution such as the Amazon Echo Show.

Amazon’s taken a far more serious storage to audio and video on the device but I’m not sure Echo Show really provides a killer app. It’s fantastic for video conferencing — as long as you use Skype. If you don’t, you might have to start. The 10-inch screen is just a bit easier to see from across the room.

Good Gear Guide

Alexa advances and enhances the smart display experience

from Good Gear Guide

Still, for now, you’ve got a great evolution of what Alexa can offer made manifest in the Echo Show. On most fronts, it’s superior to the other Echo options - so it’s well-worth the extra expense if you’re already committed to the ecosystem and comfortable letting another front-facing camera into your home.
