This means it's more like a Hero 7 White that can shoot 4K video, with the same simplified interface and minimalist design, plus GPS and an enhanced photo mode. It's a very solid point-and-shoot action camera, but if you can stretch to the Hero 7 Black or DJI Osmo Action then they're well worth the premium.

A fine choice for any first-time action cameras users

from TechRadar

The GoPro Hero 7 Silver might not provide the more ambitious user with the kind of control they’d want over capturing their exploits, but it’s easy to use and capable of pleasing results.

Best Action Camera

A great action camera for the average user

from Best Action Camera

It’s much cheaper than the Black version and most people won’t use half of its features anyways. So if you don’t want to buy an action camera from any of the Chinese brands, then the Hero7 Silver is a good option. But that’s pretty much the only reason to buy it in my opinion.

The TimeWarp feature is super cool and really does make a big difference over more conventional time-lapses. And the enhanced stabilization from HyperSmooth is definitely noticeable – especially when you get to the frame rates previously not supported like 4K/60.
