Harman Kardon has certainly chosen an apt name for its speaker. The overall design with the transparent top and soft pulsating lights makes it very alluring indeed. Build quality is superb, and it would look just as good on a desk as in your bedroom. We like the amount of bass it can put out, which is a lot better that what the Echo Plus delivers. The warm sonic signature is also a plus.

Phone Scoop

A more music-focused Alexa powered speaker

from Phone Scoop

I'm a bit disappointed with the Harman Kardon Allure. I was expecting great things, and found the speaker fell short in several ways. If you need some thump-thump to go with your jump-jump then the Allure is indeed alluring.

A nice piece to complement a room

from PhoneArena

Priced at $250, the Harman Kardon Allure delivers plenty of value, but depending on your priorities, a portable, battery-powered speaker in the same price range may better suit your needs.

G Style Magazine

Nice clean sound and some thumping bass

from G Style Magazine

Places itself well above the price ranges of Amazon’s Echo speakers but it also sounds better in the process. It can get pretty loud and without distortion. Allure is responsive and can pick up voices far away but doesn’t play nice if you have other Alexa-enabled speakers in the home unless you mute them.

Alexa gets some bass in her voice

from Android Headlines

The Harman Kardon Allure is basically an Echo for audiophiles. It works just the same as an Echo, at least on the Alexa side of things. But the main difference here is that the Allure has far better sound quality, it can get much louder, and also looks a bit nicer.

Keep it for the thumpin' bass

from Wired

The Harman Kardon Allure’s design may or may not speak to you, but it’s nice to see companies toying around with what a smart speaker should look like. For $250, it will cost you more than a standard Amazon Echo, but sounds a lot better.

PC Magazine

A powerful Alexa-equipped smart speaker with an eye-catching design

from PC Magazine

The Harman Kardon Allure is a powerful little speaker with the added convenience of Amazon's Alexa voice assistant. Power isn't everything, though, and while it can really fill a room with sound, that sound isn't particularly balanced and tends to lack clean high-mid and high frequency presence.

While its striking looks may yet prove divisive, the audio quality of the Allure, even from a brief listen, is undeniable.
