An intriguing option for those who want a little more than the bare essentials

Alcatel 5

from TrustedReviews

The Alcatel 5 offers a dominating 18:9 display and reasonable camera performance for around £230. However, a slightly odd design, underwhelming performance and mediocre software make it hard to recommend in a strong field. The similarly priced Moto G5S Plus does the basics a lot better and with considerably more style.

The perfect phone if you've got low expectations

Alcatel A7

from TechRadar

Unremarkable yet perfectly adequate, the Alcatel A7 doesn't seek to dazzle with cutting-edge specs or features, and instead aims to offer a near-stock Android experience backed up by a good screen, excellent battery, reliable performance and no-frills camera setup.

Definitely an engaging smartphone

Alcatel 5

from Tech Advisor

From our short experience with it, it appears that you get a lot - like real lot - for your money. We are not too fussed about the low storage space or average processor, or even top bezel as for the price you get a very good looking phone with some nice premium features.

A very cheap Android smartphone perfect for the most basic of tech needs

Vodafone Smart N8

You won’t see much of an improvement in performance unless you spend double the £79 asking price, so for teenagers or as a simple internet tool it will suffice.

All show, little go

Alcatel Idol 5

Alcatel has brought its attractive, but-flawed Idol 5S to Cricket as an exclusive to the prepaid carrier, but the new phone makes too many compromises to offer any appeal beyond its low price.

Android Headlines

Form & function for under $200

Alcatel Idol 5

from Android Headlines

Alcatel isn’t known for making the most premium smartphones on the market, but that hasn’t stopped them from delivering a good quality smartphone. The Idol 5 is a great device and it only costs $200 at full retail, and that’s a huge plus, if you’re willing to switch to Cricket, or if you’re already on Cricket.

For $200 you are getting a smartphone that feels well crafted and not cheap. It has great sounding dual speakers; natural feeling display and quick charging for battery life.

Alcatel did a fine job with the Idol 5. The handset is attractive, made from quality materials, and delivers the right mix of value for the dollar.

Another middle-of-the-road option for those on a budget

Alcatel Idol 5

It's a tossup because the Idol 5 is indeed VR ready from the get-go, offers an atypical premium design for its category, and customizations to the software that help to make it even more useful than stock.

Android Central

One of Cricket's best

Alcatel Idol 5

from Android Central

Alcatel's Idol 5 has a lot of good things going for it, and it comes in at a price point that's accessible to a wide array of different people – as long as you're on Cricket. The phone is an exclusive to the AT&T-powered MVNO, and if you're already on the network, it's a great buy.

I liked the price,

Alcatel REVVL

I visited 3 stores, the lowest price was 109, the highest was 175, neither was a bad price for a nice phone, only a few hours old, can't say much more, except I'm OK for now.
Nice larger screen , but...I should have gotten a LG K-& !! This one mutes by mistake when on speaker phone mode then the call is disconnected one way or another (painful issue) plus the frequents box appears (always) so you can never miss the accidental opportunity to call people when your ear touches the box. That's just 2 of the annoyances.

Mine is a Net10 phone ... but after one year's continuous paid service, they will unlock it which means the world's my oyster, not just restricted to the USA as are all other Verizon, AT&T, etc, phones. IO travel in Europe and there the phone companies are interested in what the CUSTOMER wants ... a strange concept for an American phone company!!!

Fine but You'll Never find A Case For It!

Alcatel Pixi 4 (4.5)

This phone is pretty decent as a low-end phone and I actually like the way it is set up, however I have been searching for weeks for a case for it and nothing! Not even the stores themselves that sold this phone to me have cases for this pixi 4 4.5" display phone.

Horr-ruh-bul.

Alcatel Tru

The battery life is world class terrible. I'm very serious. The phone takes forever to charge, but, it takes little to no time at all to die. Unless you plan on only using this phone to make calls, I seriously and adamantly stress that you not buy this phone.

I've read the other reviews and they are pretty much the same, bad!  But, myself personally don't see it this way. I have literally owned around 60 cell phones by now, no exaggeration. I am very computer and tech savvy, so no dummy here.  Out of the vast array of phones I've used, my favorites were the good ole Razor, Samsung Motorola E, and now this Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon, yes the name is goofy but it doesn't deserve this harsh criticism it's receiving. This baby has a great camera w/HD, Panorama etc, a Quad Core processor, sufficient memory and speed. I can run several apps at once with little lag. Ok, so you can't save to the micro memory card, that's a stupid oversight from Alcatel, but regardless this phone has been amazing, fast, easy to use and it's loaded with awesome features. I bought a nice little black snap together cover for it and the phone is still slim, I love the way it feels in my hand, it's an all around really nice and tough cell phone. Take it from me, I've actually driven off with cell phones on the roof if my car about 4 times already, so I know what tough includes. I bought this phone from Total Wireless for $20.00 and for $35.00 a month I get unlimited everything, no joke, now that's a deal let me tell you!  Google it up for yourself and see. Enjoy it like I do mine. Frank Fresh North Jersey.  Less

Basic phone - The battery from day 1 when it was fully charged as per instructions only lasts a few hours on standby. Nowhere near the 5 days claimed. This is a major problem. Also, when entering text, it is not intuitive. Every time I want a capital letter to appear at the beginning of a word I have to go into the options and keep switching it to "Abc". There is no quick function on the keyboard to do this. I'm thinking of getting a new phone and switching the simm card over. Less
