Con: Sucky Ringtones and Ring Volume Well I like this phone and picked it out because of its sleek design and easy to use programing, and its alot more simpler than the Razr and i like that, the Razr is really just for Looks, the Katana has a nice more box type design that some people like, and has alot better reception than the Razr or Crazr... and besides it takes a million "Razr's" to create one "Katana"... Pro: Stylish, great reception Con: None yet Only had mine a little over 24 hours but love it already! Great phone. This is my second Sanyo and it won't be my last. Sanyo is the best cell phone I have used and the Katana is the best of these.

Pro: Great Reception, Easy to Use and Lots of options Con: Ringer Volume and Camera suck I really like the slim style of the Katana, being one to always have the clunky flip phones. The phone is great, tons of options, easy to use but the ringer volume is HORRIBLE. The only way I can hear the ringer is if the phone is out in the open (not in pocket or purse) and there is absolutely no noise in the environment. Otherwise, I miss every call. The Camera is horrible. The only pictures that are good are ones that are close up in a med-lit environment. If it's too bright, the picture is horrible...and if it's too dark...you can't see anything. Less

The ringtone issue as almost enough to think twice about keeping it or changing to a different phone .(THE WHOLE CONCEPT BEHIND A PHONE IS SO THAT WHEN IT RINGS -IF WE COULD HEAR IT-????- YOU CAN ANSWER THE CALL) The camera features are great.Easy access to all the rest of the phones features, reception seems fine. I love personalizing my phone with ringtones and almost took my Katana back because the downloaded ringtones are really bad. You cant hear them at all, and even if you put the speaker right up to your ear, it's all distorted. Other than that, I'm happy to be able to get rid of my Kyocera Slider and make the Katana my new celly! Less

Great phone - better than the Razr

from Yahoo
Pro: Size, voice quality Con: None Most people want a great phone. Great reception, great style and easy to use. Forget what reviews say about slippery buttons. This is not true. I have friends with the Razr phones and Katana is by far better!

The ringer volume is so bad that probably only the vibrate setting will be of use. The one beep setting is non-existent, can hardly hear it. Bluetooth capability is a nice touch. Overall, good phone if one doesnt expect important phone calls in noisy places. Less

Pro: Design, battery life, signal strenth, appearance in general Con: Battery life very short if Bluetooth enabled all the time (turn off when not in use to correct this issue) I have always been partial to Sanyo, I have been with Sprint for about 8 years now and only had one non Sanyo phone and returned it for a Sanyo within a week. Sanyo does the research before launching their products, therefore having alot of repeat sales when something new comes out. I am a guy and love the bells and whistles that some phones have but if your looking for all the toys this phone isnt for you, dont get me wrong, it has alot on it but is very limited with things, like changing the look of menus, etc. And the one thing I do not get is why all of these people come on here and write all these crappy reviews about the Katana, saying that it doesnt do this or doesnt do that, if you want a powerhouse for a phone then get a treo or something, buy a PDA, dont come to these forums and try to sway people that Sanyo is bad because the phone didnt do what you wanted it to do. Do your homework before buying a cell phone and decide what you need and want on it, then go make a purchase, dont buy it because it looks cool, buy it because you like it. One con to this phone that I found out is that if you have the bluetooth enabled and use it alot it WILL drain your battery and I mean like fast. I being new to a bluetooth phone had to play with it all day for like 3 days and found out that within 12 hours of leaving the house and using the bluetooth alot that the phone would be damn near dead and needed a recharge, so what I found out is that if your not going to be using the bluetooth alot, then turn it off, on your phone and on your headset, doing this will increase your battery life by leaps and bounds. I will admit that this phone is not for downloaded ringers, you can do it but they do sound like crap. Sanyo did drop the ball with the speaker on this phone, that is forsure, and if you want to hear your phone ring you will have to resort to one of the preloaded genric ringers already on it, this is fine but there are only 8 to choose from. If you dont mind not having downloaded ringers, which I dont, then you will be fine. This is minor, and the preloaded ringers are fine, nothing fancy but you will hear them better then if you had a downloaded one. Audio wise this phone is great, people hear me just fine and I hear them just fine too. Overall this phone is great and I love it and when I got it I thought, "this is the Sanyo version of the razr" which it is only MUCH better overall across the board. One suggestion to all who read this, if you decide to get a Bluetooth headset for this unit, go with the Plantronics Voyager 510, I went through like 8 other brands, including Motorola which all sucked bad before finding this one which was not too expensive at all and available at most retailers. ( I got mine at Radio Shack $ 70) Good job Sanyo!!! Another great product!!! Less
