I have read all the reviews on here, and the bad ones, i have never experianced any problems that they mentioned with this phone. Maybe they got it when it just came out and there were alot of problems with the new ones. But i have found to have this phone for a couple years now, and it has never worked better. Although i have thrown it at trees and walls before, i have experiaced no problems. I am on a prepaid service, and i love the fact that you have msn on it and also free internet, i can download free ringers from www.3gforfree.com and i find that the connection is pretty fast for a cell phone. I think that they should create a more slick and smaller kind of this phone. Im a girl and find it to be bulky and somewhat looks like a guys phone. I have the silver one, I just got a samsung phone where it has a oval of teal on the front, Maybe make a version thats similar to that. I dont like the green color backlight, but Overall, besides the look of it, i love everything about it, because its cheap and you cant get any better then this. Less

Great Phone

This is my 3rd Sanyo phone; had it for year and half. They all worked great. Being in a house that seems to get low signal, its going a great job compare to Motorola or LG. I don't seem to have any of the problems the other user claim. The only thing I notice was that when it is charging the ring option goes from vibrate to ring tone.

Best Cell Phone that I Have ever owned!

This is the best cellphone I have ever owned. The Speakerphone works great. I love being able to dial without opening the phone. The ability to turn on or off the guard for the side keys is fine. This is the best cellphone I have ever owned. The Speakerphone works great. I love being able to dial without opening the phone. The ability to turn on or off the guard for the side keys is fine. I guess the only gripe I have is that the radio service is incompatible with Nextel and now that the two have merged one would expect it to improve. Since my buddy with Nextel radio (but not phone) for work just bought a cellphone that pretty much erases that gripe. Also, the fact that it is not compatible with the Sprint travel navigator options is a bit of a drawback. However, it works well, has a long battery life.. it is easy to use, and even the headsets from the ninety-nine cent store work with it. It is a great phone and I recently purchased one for my wife. I'm very happy with Sprint and their service. Less

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

My brother-in-law and I both bought the same phone(Sanyo 2300) both within one month of each other. Buying that phone was a big mistake! At first I loved it, everything worked great. My brother-in-law and I both bought the same phone(Sanyo 2300) both within one month of each other. Buying that phone was a big mistake! At first I loved it, everything worked great. He loved his too. Within about 3 months I started to notice orange dots were rapidly taking over the screen. I didn't think much of it, but that did become a big issue when I couldnt read text messages anymore. Several times I noticed that when I unplugged it from the charger I was not able to turn the phone on(Yes, the battery was fully charged, duh), but as soon as I plugged it back into the charger it worked fine. I recieved a text message one day while I was working but when I flipped the phone open all i saw on the screen were colour bars, like the ones on TV at 4 in the morning. Another problem I had with it was it would randomly ring or vibrate when nobody was phoning or text messaging me. Last time I talked to my brother-in-law he said he had not experienced the same problems but the problems he had were very similar, and at one point his phone completely stopped turning on. I had that phone for about 9 months. I will never buy a Sanyo phone again. Please if you are considering buying this phone run far far away. Less

My nightmare

I had this phone for half a year and the screen gradually went black, and it then stopped to ring. Sent it for repair and they said it is less expensive to buy another one than to repair it!

I got this phone 3 weeks ago in the pink color. I have to say, that going from Samsung to Sanyo I was a bit apprehensive. But I love this VI-2300. I somewhat miss having a camera function, but really how much do you use a camera on a phone? I have an actual digital camera for that. As for this phone, I like that the ringer is very loud, and it's quite easy to program and use. The speaker works very nice on it also. I leave it on power save otherwise the battery does wear down a lot faster. If it is on power save, I can go for days without having to charge. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a nice looking phone without paying an arm and a leg and that doesn't have a camera on it. Less

Good Basic Phone

I was looking for an electronic manual and came across this page. After glancing over the reviews I had to response. This phone is basic and was sold as a basic phone. It is even FREE too so that indicates BASIC. The battery life is decent even with speaker on. I talk on it (and my other two) for over 2 hours a day with speaker because I am in traffic and hate headsets. I talked to the wife once on a 2 hour commute through the countryside and into the city without the call dropping. I live in a rural area far from a cell tower. I need external antennas with my other phones, but not this one. So if you are looking for a BASIC phone, this is it. If not, then this isn't it! Less

The cobalt colour is great but the phone holds a charge, which is good because I am always forgetting to plug it in. I'm on a prepaid plan which is awesome. I don't use it a lot, buying it only for safety but it is very reliable when I need it. The only drawback is sometimes voice clarity but then i'm always forgetting to pull out the antennae. A great inexpensive phone with a lot of uses. Love the memo feature, alarm feature and the calculator. Less
