The Vibrant is one of the better Android handsets available from T-Mobile. It beats the CLIQ and CLIQ XT hands down on many levels. It easily offers one of the best displays available in T-Mobile's entire offering. Some may not like the large size of the device (a result of the large display), and those people could be happy with the smaller myTouch 3G Slide. It also doesn't have a physical keyboard, so those who require one might also have to stick with the myTouch 3G Slide.

The media performance of the Vibrant is above par for Android devices. Additions to the music player software are welcome and appreciated. The camera software is more advanced, and happens to take great pictures, too. Even video captured with the Vibrant is good.

Only the Sprint model features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, though.

The Vibrant features impressive specs overall, and its 5 megapixel 720p HD capable camera ranks high among them, though the lack of a flash earns it a ding on the report card. Also troublesome is the Vibrant's relatively weak reception on T-Mobile's network. The biggest issue with the Vibrant, however, is the frequency and severity of pauses, or hiccups, in the use of what is otherwise a very speedy phone. These seem to exist is all versions of the Galaxy S - even those in Europe. In spite of these problems, the Vibrant is still a desirable handset. It does many things right, and presents it all on that magnificent touchscreen display.

T-Mobile customers have been treated to a stellar device in Google's very first branded phone – the Google Nexus One. Up until now, the Nexus One claimed the top title not only in T-Mobile's lineup, but on many others around the world as well. However, the Samsung Vibrant comes storming out of the gate to provide customers a new level of experience that's supplemented by its refreshing interface, swift performance, and battery life that makes everything else before it pale in comparison. The Super AMOLED display doesn't disappoint as it's clearly the first striking characteristic that enthralls gazers from a far distance – not to mention playing Avatar will also get the smartphone noticed by peers. Additionally, T-Mobile's version includes some extra goodies that showcase some of the foundational strengths it has already been known to excel in – such as gaming and video playback. Now that the Samsung Vibrant is here and available to the masses, it easily washes away the bad after taste left in the wake of the Behold II last fall. T-Mobile customers won't want to miss out on this handset as it's easily by far the best Android offering available to them this summer.

I have been pondering a new phone for a while and I decided today was the day so I went and played with the Samsung Galaxy S/Vibrant, Wave, Impact, Gravity T as well as the HTC Legend and Blackberry Bold... All solid phones with excellent features, all very nice in their own way but I came home with the Galaxy S/Vibrant. I like the way it feels in my hand, I like the navigation among apps and widgets and all the specs sounded like stuff I would use. So far it is very nice, very slick and it is VERY good at making calls with crisp, clear audio and no static even when calling from the basement vault at my workplace where most phones fail. Use as a phone is the determining factor for me and this phone gets it. SMS messages are easy to type and read, and they are threaded as is the newer fashion. This is very new to me, but I do like it and I think it is an improvement over the old ways. I find the typing to be fast and easy with few missed keys or erronious presses whether holding the phone vertically or horizontally. The dialing keypad is even easier to use with large easy to hit virtual buttons. There are dozens of apps available and the downloads are fast and slick as would be expected, but I'm no expert so that's all I'm going to say. If you like Samsung phones and the usual way that Samsung does menus and interaction I believe that you will be happy with this phone. Less
