All around, the Samsung Intercept is adequate and average. It's a nice step up for feature phone users looking for a cute, simple smartphone, but in many ways these buyers could do better without having to buy a more complicated phone. The unresponsive screen can be frustrating, especially compared to better smartphones. The camera was fine under the best conditions, but nothing to write home about. Messaging and social networking features are good, but no better than you'll find on any other Android phone.

Samsung has made some adaptations to Android with the Intercept, but none of these changes make the phone any easier to use, and none of the additions, like the improved address book features, match the best adapted designs on an HTC Sense phone. There are few Android phones with a keyboard, but most of them are better than the Intercept. It's a fine enough phone, but it just doesn't live up to its promise in any way.

With a little tweaking the Samsung Intercept is a very solid mid-range Android device.  While there are some disappointments such as the lower resolution screen and lack of Rev. A, the Intercept makes up for it with a good keypad and a comfortable overall design.  The Intercept is certainly no HTC EVO 4G or Samsung Epic 4G, but rather a mid-range Android device that will deliver a lot of performance for half the price of these top-tier beasts.  With a pink version and a price tag just shy of $100 dollars we envision it being a strong seller in Sprint’s lineup.

Pro: Great touch screen. Bright display. Rear speaker is loud and clear. Pretty snappy. QWERTY keyboard is great. Call quality is superb. Wifi and ships with Android 2.1 GPS support is awesome. Optical trackpad. Con: Can feel a bit sluggish at times (not all phones are perfect) The auto brightness feature is a little off. Battery life could be better. No flash on camera. No flash support (yet) Back and home buttons occasionally bugged up. No light indicator to alert for missed calls messages etc. Using experience: 1 months This phone is actually pretty awesome! I upgraded to this from my LG Rumor 2. This is a MAJOR step up to it. Since Im pretty new to smart phones and Android I feel this is good for beginners to mid-range users. A power user would definitely not be comfortable, but like I stated before beginners this is your choice. Its not a 4g of course so dont expect speeds beyond belief, but it gets the job done. Plus it has WiFi if you really need it. The phone feels pretty fast, if you have too many apps running it slows down but it seems the 800 mhz processor is ok. All in all if you want Android, and are on a budget I say go for it! Im 16 and love this phone! All my friends hog it at school lol. Keyboard is great for txting! I have heard that some models the data modem shuts off or the back and home buttons dont work, so be sure to check that out at the store before purchase. Luckily mine has little to no bugs in it!! I give it a 7 out of 10 Less
