Awesome Phone!

All around awesome phone! Issues with slow texting are fixed by downloading a patch. Great function, and great battery life.

I have had the Nokia E62 for about 3 months now. When I first got it, it was great! A full keyboard for easy texting, big screen, great battery life, and excellent signal. I even upgraded to unlimited texting so I can have more fun. Now, I am desperately looking for another phone. My phone will not stay charged for a day, it takes 1 minute and 20 seconds to unfreeze when I send a text message, and sometimes it just freezes when it wants to. It does it every single day, about 4x a day. When I get on the Menu and try to scroll from one icon to another, it takes a while to get to it. I have read feedback from other Nokia E62 owners on AT&T website, Ebay website, and on here. It seems to me like this happens with mostly all E62 phones. My suggestion is to NOT get this phone. Its better to get a Blackberry than to get this phone. Less

I have a Rogers branded Nokia E62. I would expect it to be the same as a Fido branded one, but I have no idea how similar it is to a Cingular E62. Call quality is very good, like most Nokia bar phones it picks up background noise a little too well, but incoming and outgoing voice quality is good in most situations. Occasionally I have to turn on the speaker phone if there's serious background noise. The included wired headset improves outgoing voice clarity, and produces better incoming and outgoing sound in noisy situations than the Aliph Jawbone and BlueAnt Z9 bluetooth headsets I have used. Reception is excellent, I can hold a signal under ground through a lot of concrete and rock, and I'm usually still talking when other people have had their calls drop. Battery life is very good. With the phone in my pocket, using the headset, I get six hours of talk time. When the phone is exposed to the cold, the talk time is considerably less, around 2 hours. Standby time is similarly cut short when exposed to cold. When I'm staying overnight somewhere and have the phone on the bed stand, the battery is drained. If I fall asleep with it in my pocket, the standby time is fine. The keyboard is one of the best I have used. On par with the BlackBerry 8700 series, and better than everything else. I can touch type between 20-30 words per minute as long as my hands aren't cold. Gloves solve the cold problem but intefere with tactile feedback. I am writing this review on my E62. The shift key can be used one handed, as a temporary caps lock, or two handed holding it down for the letters you want capitalized. The keys have a backlight that kicks in in low light situations. There is some creaking from the battery cover when I type as it shifts slightly. The battery cover is quite secure, and is even a bit difficult to remove. The screen is excellent. It's large and bright, and viewable even in direct sunlight. I suspect the money saved on not having a camera was put towards a translfective screen. I haven't used another phone with a colour screen that is as clear in direct sunlight. It's even still clear while wearing non polarized sun-glasses. Internet speed is decent, but not fast. It's fine for text, and with Opera Mini it can handle images. For the sites Opera Mini can't handle properly due to the proxy it uses, the built in Webkit/KHTML browser displays any page viewable in Safari or Konqueror with proper proportions, and all non- Flash, Java or multimedia components. The E62 is not a multimedia phone. Like most S60v3 non FP1 or FP2 phones it has memory problems. The built in audio player will shut down with another program running. emTube crashes the phone on too large videos, and even small ones are choppy. The sound is only mono, and it doesn't support A2DP bluetooth. Transferring music via bluetooth is painfully slow. However, Google Maps works quite quickly, even in satelite mode. The only down side is I can't get My Locations to work. The menu interface lags a bit, but it's not hard to get used to. The buld is very sturdy. I have dropped the pone may times over the past ten months, and it only has a few scratches to show for it. The best thing about the E62 with Rogers and Fido is that it is classified as a regular phone and is elligible with the $7 unlimited browser plan. So you get a phone with a large screen, full keyboard and good 3rd party application support, without having to pay for the much more expensive Windows Mobile or Blackberry data plans. It also makes up for the lack of WiFi. I'm very happy with it for call quality, reception, battery life, durablity, keyboard, screen quality and internet. That was obviously what the E62 was designed for. I've made some attempts at using it for MP3s, but it simply doesn't make a good multimedia phone. Less

I love all the features that it has.I am able to do things with this phone that I was not able to do with the previous one. The only thing that I do not like is that it is a little slow when you you go to different applications, but what it does will make up for that.

The good: - Amazing screen. - Blackberry connect. - Lots of third party apps, like handy calendar or papyrus. - Very good web browser, with mini map and page miniatures. - There is a FREE msn client avalaible. You only pay for the data, and it does not uses more than a few mb /month. Overall, it's a solid device, well made, and does everything i want to. Less

Slow phone

Pros: Tons of features, Symbian OS, charges quickly, flash player Cons: Painfully slow, locks up when sending text messages, works with very few headsets, accepts mini SD rather than full or mini, bulky, no wifi.
