What the Critics Are Saying...

TechRadar

The Moto G6 Play is the most basic model in the G6 range but still has plenty going for it, including a long-lasting battery and a decent screen. If you're on a tight budget it's easy to recommend.

Place the G6 Play casually in front of a friend and tell them you’ve just spent £400 on a new phone and they’ll be none the wiser. With its slim bezels and big screen it certainly looks the part, and in use it’s fast enough that only the most demanding of smartphone addicts will find it lacking. It might be worth spending the extra to get the regular G6, but if you're strapped for cash then the Moto G6 Play looks like a nice phone for £169. It's got the stylish looks of the more expensive devices, albeit with plastic and no water-repellant coating, and the specs are pretty good too.

TrustedReviews

The likes of Honor and Xiomi have made the budget mobile arena far more competitive, but the Moto G6 Play remains one of most complete phones you can pick up for less than £200. All signs point to the G6 Play being a great budget phone from Motorola.

There’s no denying the Motorola Moto G6 Play is a good-looking phone, and a 4,000mAh battery is certainly a promising selling point.

Its vast battery is a real bonus, too, and while it’s let down slightly by its camera, it’s not like it’s terrible on this front.

Looks great for the money but its core specification suffers a little

from Expert Reviews

There’s no doubt that the Motorola Moto G6 Play, like the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus, is an attractive phone, and it has a few other things going for it as well. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts with that 4,000mAh battery inside.
