When I purchased my I 560 from Telus the sales representative constantly used the word indestructible. However, that is far from the truth. I have had two phones in the past 18 months. I do not work in construction or in any crazy tough industry. I am a stay a home dad. There is no abuse to this phone what so ever. I purchased the phone in Nov of 08. The screen began to malfunction in June of 09 but I was busy so I had if replaced in Nov of 09. Now in May of 10 the screen malfunctioned again! Additionally, now the only way I can hear callers is by using the speaker phone. I spoke with a Telus agent and he told me that the definition of indestructible isn't unbreakable! But the dictionary tells me indestructible means very long lasting 6-8 months isn't very long lasting in my books. This phone is not as advertised it is a piece of crap! I have returned to using my i290 which is indestructible! Less

Con: iDEN, J2ME, locked to Nextel, small screen, doesn't use USB for data cable or charging, accessories are expensive, super-limited memory for SMS/text storage, no bluetooth option, GPS is spotty Using experience: 5 years My first i560 was fantastic. Bought it in 2005. It was solid and reliable and never gave me trouble. Then I lost it in 2007. Every replacement I've gotten has been progressively worse ever since. The cable in the flip has gone bad twice, the battery itself had such poor contact that my phone kept resetting. It will only store 100 text messages at any given time. The belt clip for it is great when it's new, but it breaks VERY easily, which was what lead me to lose my first (and best) incarnation of this phone in a mall parking lot. Basically, in today's market, this phone is remarkably basic, and it doesn't even do that as well as I'd like. (SexTel merger aside, the voice quality isn't great on this phone.) Less

Even after it took a bath, dried this puppy out for a couple of days and off it went with no probs for a while. Then it started shutting its self down for nor reason. I took it into Telus and suprise they wanted to sell me a new phone. Did a full reset on the beastie and that helped what really helped was opening it up and cleaning the battery contacts on the battery and the phone as well as lifting the battery contacts on the phone. Since I did that I haven't had any problems even after the phone has had many encounters with the law of gravity. Works fine no probs Less

Worst Phone

This phone is one pain in the neck! Like most reviews, my phone continues to shut down even with no less than 3/4 of a full battery. This is the second i560 in less than 8 months, the first one was returned in less than 14 days with the same problem and was replaced. Now it is too late and I do not want to pay to send it to Telus only to have it come back and pay out way more money than its worth IF it can be fixed. I must say, Telus service is better than most providers however, it sure is something that this phone has so many problems and yet the service provider continues to sell it. Less

Don't bother with this one

I've had a contract that forces me to use a Mike. This is the third i560 I've had and with hope, the last. The clip that holds the back on came loose, causing the phone to break into pieces if you don't hold it just right. The sound quality is really, really poor and the battery life is so weak that you'd better have chargers in your car, in your house, at your office.... I also have the "Insert SIM" message regularly show up, causing me to have to reboot. Stay away from this one! Less

I've been a nextel Customer for 6 years and have only needed to replace phones every 2 years. THIS is my FOURTH 560 in TWO WEEKS!!! The first one the keypad froze up on me on day three. they replaced that one then 5 days later it stops holding a charge. I switched the battery with another phone and it drained that one in less than 8 hrs. All my other phones lasted me atleast 2 days . Custoner service said they had to look at it. I TOLD them It's not the battery and need a replacement. I came back a 1/2 hour later and they handed tne phone back and told me it was the Battery!!! NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I told them to take it back and asked for a replacement. They told me the "system" only allows the me to replace with the same I560. I told them this phone even with a NEW battery will only last 5 min. Sure enough while I'm there with the tech it goes low battery and dies. I replaced it and 2 days later it not hold the charge. I had to charge the battery in a different phone then switch the battery before leaving for work. Now replaced with a different model completely Less

Not sure if it's an OS problem but the thing likes to randomly shut down and re-boot itself, often during use. Plus it likes to prompt me to "insert SIM" forcing me to power it off and on again. The sound is terrible, often people sound like they are slurring their speech and others have reported hearing the same from me. And don't be fooled by it's "rugged design". It's just cheap plastic. AS a nextel it's fine, but as a cell phone it's crap. Look elsewhere. Less

I've had mine for about a year and a half, have watched it skate across floors and parking lots (oops), and it still functions as when it was new - both good and bad. Fortunately the good qualities outnumber the bad (really just the crappy-sounding external speaker, and the fact that the color display is all but unreadable in the daylight). Otherwise it has been a very reliable phone for me. The DC is indispensable and I love the way it recharges quickly. Less

One day with the phone on and no calls and it needs recharging! Pro: reception in my area is far superior to all others Cons: everything else. Insert Sim Card error happens all the time for no apparant reason, and the clips that come with them are not durable at all. Less
