The LG Optimus G is one of the slimmest smartphones ever produced, and yet it’s also one of the most powerful. If you ask LG to describe it in two words or less, “crown jewel” is probably the best you’ll get.
And it is quite valuable indeed. Its design was the basis for one of Google’s own flagship phones, the Nexus 4. Its main features include a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed and is scheduled to be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the future. There’s no question that it’s one of the most feature-rich Android handsets out on the market at the moment. And it doesn’t hurt that it looks mighty fine, too.
It’s clear that LG worked very hard to deliver as many great features as possible to its customers with the Optimus G. It tends to get hot fairly quickly during usage, but that’s because it comes with one of the most powerful mobile processors ever created. If you’re inclined to give LG a shot and are looking to make the Optimus G your main device, prepare for your expectations to be met.

What the Critics Are Saying...
- James A., GSM DomeOverall, we give this handset an 8.7 out of 10 for design, a 9 for hardware, a 9 for OS and UI, for a total of 8.9 out of 10. It’s still a very good phone, but LG is very close to launching a flagship to follow this unit. The advatange is that its price will probably drop more soon.
