The LG dLite is an entry-level flip phone with a girly look. LG intentionally designed this low-cost phone for young girls looking for a cute handset with basic call and text functionality, including camera and internet capabilities. The phone is lightweight and made of plastic, but sturdy enough for light to moderate usage. It is available in blue, pink, and black.
It has a large 2.8-inch OLED screen with 256,000 colors on a 240 x 400 pixel display. On its cover is a LED matrix that displays time with cute and simple dot animations.
Although an entry level mobile device, the LG dLite is a capable phone for varied mobile purposes. You can check your email using a 3G connection with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps on HSDPA. For file transfers and sharing, it has a Bluetooth function as well as a mini USB port for charging and connectivity to a PC or laptop.
For the price the camera is also impressive, 3.15 megapixels capable of taking 2048 x 1536 photos and a front facing VGA camera for video conferencing. Moreover, it has a built-in accelerometer that can turn its screen to landscape mode when rotated 90 degrees.
One knock on the dLite is that it does not have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, the mini USB port located on the phone's right side serves as the headphone jack, meaning you need to use the supplied headphones which are crisp sounding but may not be comfortable for some.
Being an entry level phone, the LG dLite has an 800 mAh Lithium Ion battery which is enough for light to moderate usage. The battery provides enough power to sustain a standby time of 250 hours and 3 hours talk time.
With all of its basic to mid-range features and fashionable appeal to young girls, the LG dLite is an affordable handset which will surely satisfy at its price.
