The "1-Minute" Review
The dual-band (CDMA 800/1900MHz) LG Chocolate VX-8500 features an ultra-thin minimalist slider design. At first sight, people may confuse the Chocolate for a dark-colored iPod. Offering similar design elements, the boxy exterior houses a 2.0-inch (240 x 320 pixel resolution) 262K-color LCD screen, circular keypad and 5 way navigation control.
Slid open, the numeric keypad is revealed along with the 1.3-megapixel camera lens on the back. Over 1000 photos can be stored on the Chocolate's internal memory, encoded in JPG file format, each approximately 150 KB in size. It also can take 3G2 videos while in Camcorder Mode.
With this phone, you can download numerous Java & Brew applications. It is able to run on the high-speed EV-DO network, achieving 3G broadband speeds at theoretical rates of up to 2.4 Mbps. The Chocolate comes 66.0 MB of memory for music and other multimedia respectively and is equipped with a microSD (TransFlash) expansion card slot. A 2.5 mm adaptor is included to let consumers use their own headphones for private listening. A customer should additionally invest in Bluetooth headset and USB cable to enjoy phone’s complete connectivity package.
The LG Chocolate is a seductive phone that integrates many firsts. From its touch-sensitive keypad to the sleek exterior and hidden screen, the obvious aesthetic appeal is no wonder it appears among the best selling handhelds.
