With the 10 Lite, Honor has a mid-range phone that doesn’t quite punch above its weight, in a market where numerous other devices could challenge it on price-to-performance. And I’m not just talking about computing speed here. Battery life, screen quality and camera quality should all be accounted for in this equation. The Honor 10 Lite’s selfie camera is not a reason to buy this phone. Not by any means. Its rear cameras however are worthy of your consideration.

You will have in your hand a beautiful, almost all-screen phone that can handle most of your smartphone tasks with no problem and will last your a day or two before needing to plug it in. It also has a serviceable camera, if you prefer lush and vivid colors over realistic ones. Sadly, Honor also missed quite a few boxes on the phone. Never mind the plastic body or the notch, but the aggressive app killing and slow charging over micro USB could be a deal breaker for those who rely on their phones for everything.

As one of the first smartphones to be launched in 2019, the Honor 10 Lite brings most of the features that people care about. Be it the premium looking design, water drop notch or the good enough internals, this is a phone that looks fresh. The camera performance, however, leaves you disappointed and as Xiaomi gets ready to up the ante with the 48MP camera-toting Redmi Note 7, Honor is bound to feel the heat. The 3,400 mAh battery too isn’t quite the best in segment.

The Honor 10 Lite is trendy and good looking, employs a powerful chipset, has an amiable display, runs the latest software, houses a long-lasting battery, and has reasonably good cameras. On the downside, the software still needs some polishing.
