What the Critics Are Saying...

Stuff

The iPhone 11 is the new standard bearer for Apple phones, designed for everyone, even if there is an even higher-quality option, the 11 Pro, for those who want more. However, for a price starting at £729, cheaper than last year’s iPhone XR, the iPhone 11 is pretty powerful. There’s the latest, most...

What Hi-Fi

Despite not being the most glamorous of the new releases, the iPhone 11 is still arguably the most intriguing. The iPhone XR has impressed a lot of people over the last 12 months, especially given its more palatable price tag and we wouldn’t be surprised if the iPhone 11 achieved similar acclaim. Th...

The iPhone 11 features the same A13 Bionic processor as this year’s Pro models. In my brief time with the smartphone I found the experience just as snappy as the Pro and Pro Max. Yes, $979 CAD is a lot to ask for a smartphone in 2019 that only sports 64GB of storage and features an LCD display, but...

There’s the latest, most high-end processor and a battery that lasts longer than before. The iPhone 11 looks great, especially in shades like purple and yellow, with subtly colour-matched edges and what Apple says is a highly resilient tough glass case.

The iPhone 11 features the same A13 Bionic processor as this year’s Pro models. In my brief time with the smartphone I found the experience just as snappy as the Pro and Pro Max. Yes, $979 CAD is a lot to ask for a smartphone in 2019 that only sports 64GB of storage and features an LCD display, but after briefly looking at the iPhone 11 Pro’s screen beside the iPhone 11, the actual difference in quality was negligible. Apple’s iPhone XR was one of my favourite smartphones of last year, so I’m not surprised its successor is just as appealing.

The child of the iPhone XR and iPhone XS is born

What's interesting here is that Apple is clearly trying to make the iPhone 11 the standard iPhone to get; the one with the biggest appeal, both in terms of tech and price point, and we suspect that, for many who aren't looking for the advanced "Pro" features of the new Pro range, this will be plenty good enough.
