What can you say about the Sony Ericsson z710i?

i'm thinking about bying the soney ericsson z710i from fido, but i don't want to take a 3 year contract just to get it for 50.00 because no service provider will give that phone for a month to month account because if i desided to switch providers, they would lose 300.00 on the phone. except i won't take a contract, because i won't lock my self in because fido's customer service department is crap. i want the phone because of the mp3 player and fm radio built in. does any one know if you can download mp3's, or is it just mp3 wring tones? and is it really worth spending 300.00 on that phone? is the phone any good?

I just switched from Fido to Rogers just so I could get the Sony Ericsson W810i. Rogers is sending me a 4GB memory stick duo for free. I had 5 months left on my contract which Rogers isn't making me payout. I had to talk to a Customer Relations Rep at Fido before I could switch for free. She offered me discounts on a plan and value pack. She also offered the z710i for free on a two year contract. She tried really hard to keep me as a Fido customer.

The point of this story is this: Even thought I could have gotten a decent discount on services and the z710i for free, I still decided to move to Rogers just so I could get the Sony Ericcson w810i. Check this phone out! The w810i does everything the z710i does and more. http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=ca&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pip1&zone=pp&pid=10376

The z710i used Memory Stick Micro and only comes with a 64mb card. Right now the biggest card I can find for this phone is only 2 GB. The w810i comes with 1GB and you get a 4GB card on a three year contract. I have found 8GB Memory Stick Duo cards for sale.

Hope this helps!

I'd say, getting the contract would be a better option, because if you decide to part ways with fido, you'd have to pay 200, and you're already paying 50 for the phone, so you spend 250, compare it to the cost of the phone (325) and you're still saving 75.

Actually, I'm giving some serious thought to geting the phone myself, cos from what I heard, and read, it sounds really good. It'd be nice if someone who's using it would post their 2 cents here.
