Why does time lapse app fail on LG G4?
I've tried four apps now. With each, the recording appears to end after a few seconds. I suppose it might be a memory issue, but apparently 2.8 GB RAM is available.
Marshmallow 6.0.
Any help appreciated.

Go to Settings > Apps > All > look for the camera > Clear data. Try using the camera again.
