I have reformatted my Archos 101 G9 and am stuck in recovery mode. How do I put it back to normal?

Try this:
Unplug charger and remove main battery, press power button and hold for 30 seconds and release, let the unit sit for 5 minutes, reseat battery and plug in charger and press power, a long shot.
