Where to find settings for missed call or text alert on the Motorola Moto G?

My Moto G rings like I have a text but there is none. It just keeps ringing to the point I have to turn it off. How can I stop it from doing this.
The volume setting seems to simply adjust the volume for when the text arrives. I am looking for a "reminder" setting - so if I missed hearing the text when it was received, the phone will chirp or beep every 10-20 min until I review the message or basically acknowledge the reminder by pressing a button.
Hi Caroline. Go to Settings > Sound.
That is where you will find the settings to set ringtone for text messages and phone calls.
