I bought this as a cheap replacement for my broken Nokia. I wanted to keep my old number on Three but their sims are only 3g or 4 g compatible. They will not work with 2g phones. After inserting my simm and turning the phone on, I got an error message saying, "Insert SIM". This was the same message that I got when I tried my sim in a cheap Tesco phone. I was told by my network provider that the phone was only 2g.

So it the Alcatel 1060 a 2g or 3g phone?
